Come challenge yourself to use fabrics and colors in combinations you’ve not tried before. Guest instructor Barbara Knapp has provided African fabrics for sale or use your own large scale print with Barbara’s own pattern designs to ‘tame’ those large prints.

In this beginner class you will use a product named Kraft-Tex, along with your choice of fabric, to make a durable tote. This product feels like paper, sews like fabric, and wears like leather.

This beginner class is a great opportunity to hone your piecing and cutting skills and to work with bias raw edges while making a small, complicated-looking quilt. For the more experienced quilter, Twisted Pinwheels offers the chance to try a new technique and can be used as a springboard for exploring a variety of quilt layouts. Since the fabric requirements are minimal, it is also a great project for pushing your fabric selection comfort zone – be daring, try something new!! Options for quilting the finished project will be discussed and/or demonstrated.

Start thinking about warmer weather as you stitch this colorful quilt. Each one you make will be completely different, which makes the pattern all the more fun!! It is truly a beginner’s project - if you can sew a ¼” seam and are comfortable with a rotary cutter, you will have no problem and if you are an experienced quilter, it is a quick project that looks complex.

Learning to thread your serger is the foundation to all serging! Become acquainted with threading and tension in this three-hour class. This class is a prerequisite to all Serger Workshops.

Fee: $63, students provide machine and supplies, or a machine may be rented for an additional $10 per night.
Designed for people who have taken the Quilting 101 class, participants will put to use what they learned about color and fabric selection, fabric cutting, sewing accurate ¼ inch seams and proper pressing techniques. Additional basic techniques will be taught with an emphasis on binding. In this class you will make a stunning table runner.
