RainTree Quilting is excited to be having internationally recognized fiber artist, Sue Spargo, back to instruct these wool hand applique’ and creative stitching classes.

Birds on Parade
Saturday, February 14th; 10am-5:30pm
Fee: $175, includes kit and lunch
In this class you will make a great little zipper bag to hold your favorite project.
The background will be layered with fabric and ribbons and each little bird will be embellished with fun stitches adding character and texture to your bag. Before class you will piece your background and appliqué the birds in place so we can spend class time having fun embellishing.

Posy Pad Pincushion
Sunday, February 15th, 10am-5:30pm
Fee $185, includes kit and lunch
Embellish your own little cottage pincushion adding flower boxes and vines. Each one will be unique telling your own story.

Mystery Stitch Sampler – Come Fly With Me
Monday, February 16th; 10am-5:30pm
Fee: $150, includes lunch
Share in the fun of exploring one stitch. It will open your eyes to the possibilities of creating new and unique forms of the stitch. We will work with different thickness or threads as well as unique textures. You will find the possibilities are endless.

Judy Hopkins' Block, Pt.2; 5:30-8:30pm

Start a series of Judy Hopkins blocks with the Irish Chain in March.  Make a block and learn about adding borders to make an individual block wall hanging, table topper, place mat, etc.  Make additional blocks throughout the year and combine them to make a quilt.

Learn how to quilt your blocks as you make them, then assemble, add backing, add additional quilting, and bind. This is a fabulous technique to learn so you may add custom quilting to each block of your quilt.

Diamond Chain Table Runner – Confident Beginner

Tuesdays, February 10th & 17th; 5:30-8:30pm
Instructor: Martha Morris
Fee: $49, students provide machine and supplies. If you do not own a machine, one may be rented for an additional $10 per session.
Strip-piecing techniques make this gorgeous table runner surprisingly quick to complete. Borders are added log cabin-style so there are no tricky angles to measure or seams to sew, and the quilt-as-you-go method means you’ll have a completed project in much less time.

Learn to Sew: Tunic Pt.2; 1-5pm

LEARN TO SEW Series-these classes are designed for people with no, or limited, sewing experience. The series is designed to progressively build sewing skills from learning how to use a machine to garment sewing. Students can jump in with the class that matches their existing skills. Students may use their own machine or arrange to rent one. These classes are open to adults as well as high school aged students.
