Summer Sewing / Quilt Camp 3-Day

Learning how to read and follow pattern instructions is essential to independent sewing in the future.  For this reason, it is necessary that students purchase their supplies under supervision at RainTree.  Fabrics will be discounted.

The class fee includes most fabrics and patterns needed for their "training" projects.  More advanced students might need additional projects.  This will be determined by the instructors and discussed with parents.  Students may repeat this course.  In subsequent sessions they will continue to advance with appropriate projects and work at their level of learning.

NOTE:  Our classroom is equipped with scissors, pins and general sewing supplies.  If your student has their own sewing supplies and machine, they are encouraged to bring that so they can learn how to properly use their equipment and tools.

Those supplies include:  Fabric scissors, a measuring tape, seam ripper, glass head or flower head pins, fabric marking pencils and a hem gauge (small 6" ruler used during sewing).  Projects will be determined during the first day of camp.  Students will be working at their individual levels.  Projects chosen will be appropriate for the individual's level.  Jodie has a good selection of patterns for learners.  She is particular about the fabrics and patterns that students learn on.

Students need to bring lunch and snacks.  Or, they may choose to eat at one of RainTree's neighboring eateries.  We ask that students refrain from wearing fragrances and from bringing peanuts.
