All 100% cotton fabrics at RainTree are perfect for mask making. After checking this section, click on the shop-online link and view a variety of prints and batiks. We only stock artist quality quilting cottons. What makes quilt shop fabrics different? Fabrics manufactured for independent quilt shops are printed on higher quality gray goods. The thread count is higher resulting in a more tightly woven and greater quality end product. 2 layers of quality quilting cotton is ideal for washable, reusable masks.
This section of our website offers a variety of products mask makers are currently using. We recommend creating ties with a quality knit. 1 yard of knit yields 36 strips for ties. If the knit yardage is 58" -60" wide, the 1 yard will yield 72 ties. If you prefer a woven fabric for knit, allow 2 width of fabric cuts per mask: 3-5" of fabric per mask.
1 Yard of fabric plus 1/3rd yard of knit makes 12 super simple masks. The link for the pattern is below. Go to RainTree Quilting's facebook page to watch a video about the mask.
If you just want to make a "bandana" sized scarf, request 2/3rd yards of fabric. This will provide you with a 24" by 44" of cloth. You can create 2 22" square bandana's. We have hundreds, maybe thousands of prints to choose from.
