Sewing Threads Should Be Fun! And, RainTree has a Variety!
Spagetti and Fruitti Threads:
a 12wt cotton thread suitable for: Hand Embroidery, Shashiko, Machine Top Stitching and Decorative Overlocker Work. In overlocker work, use the threads in the loopers, not the needles.
Metallic Threads are designed for decorative stitching too. They are suitable for: Machine Embroidery, Decorative Machine Top Stitching, Decorative Overlocker Work. Be sure to use machine needles designed for metallic threads and slow down your stitching speed. Avoid hot irons with metallic threads, or use press cloth.
Our Coats and Clark Heat Activated Threads are designed for sewing on buttons! Hand sew the button than iron the back side of the stitching. The threads will bond together to provide a secure sewn on button!
Invisible Thread
These threads can be used in the needle and in the bobbin. Caution: slow down the bobbin winding speed if possible; nylon thread can crack plastic bobbins. This thread is used for invisible stitching and quilting. It is not appropriate for overlockers or longarms. Also, extensive use in your conventional machine is not recommended; nylon is very strong and can be hard on internal machine parts. However, occasional use is absolutely fine! And, RainTree chooses to offer the YLI brand as it is least harmful to your machines!
Razzle 8 wt, 6Ply Rayon Perfect for the loopers of overlockers for decorative work. This thread is great for pin-tucking too: use it on the underside of your fabric as you machine pin-tuck.
La Espiga Nylon Size 18 Cord: is a macrame cording perfect for sewing machine couching. (Note, this is NOT a 18wt thread.)
